Abstract | To guarantee the requirement of energy to develop the economic and society, Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is being engineered in Vietnam. First NPPs are expected to operate in 2020. Therefore, preparing technical human resource to run these NPPs is now the greatest concern for Vietnamese government and authorities. From the perspective of an engineering manager, this research focuses on analysis of the NPP’s technical system to determine the quantity as well as detail requirements of human resource in order to operate the first NPP rated at 1000MW in 2020. The result has shown that Vietnam needs 1000 manpower in all necessary majors to operate the NPP. To fulfill to this requirement, analysis about education system’s ability and weakness of infrastructure was done, to determine the disadvantage and weakness of existing education system. Some strategies in developing the infrastructure, improving the education and training system, or even outsourcing were proposed to guarantee quality and adequacy of human resource as well as to meet deadline to bring the NPP into operation in 2020 as expected progress. |
