AbstractAt present one of the major Global focuses is the destructive form of nature due to climate change. The impact of global warming has already shown its many destructive outcomes all over the Globe and livelihood. The nature impact has a crucial domino effect over our human life. So most of the countries are now emphasizing environment friendly business for their sustainability and overall growth. For that banks are working through economic activities using the word Green for differentiating their services. Around the World many initiatives have been taken. Bangladesh Bank (the central bank of Bangladesh) as the earliest central bank in world has taken many initiatives to influence investors for Green investments through various green products. Green financing, a part of Green Banking is making huge socio-economic contribution with resource-efficient and low carbon industries. In this work, I have focused on the present initiatives, their response, various impacts and future possibilities of re-financing the banks under Green scheme by Bangladesh Bank for a sustainable economic as well as social growth.
