AbstractAsset management of hydropower infrastructures is concerned with the maintenance, operation and investments of physical resources in a cost-effective manner. For sustainable development of hydropower infrastructures and to meet the desired level of electricity generation, the asset management becomes an essential tool for decision makers. This study focuses on the asset management for Yeywa Hydropower Project in Myanmar. It covers the assets such as RCC dam, spillway, power intake, penstock, tailrace channel, turbine, generator, transformer, switch gear and transmission line. To evaluate the conditions of the assets, Repair, Evaluation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation (REMR) Research Program is modified using design values and criteria related to performance factors of infrastructures: hydraulic/operation function, structural condition and dam safety. Prioritization for asset rehabilitation is carried out by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with respective to the evaluation of the infrastructures. As part of asset management plan, economic analysis is performed for 6 scenarios classified by discount rates and annual power generation. It is composed of LCCA, CBA and IRR, and results show that Yeywa Hydropower Project is economically viable. The evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the hydropower infrastructures based on performance analysis of power generation capacity ratio, utilization factor, marginal value of water for hydropower and community acceptance on the project, indicated that the project is sustainable. Moreover, the simplified asset management plan adopted in this study can be implemented by Ministry of Electric Power No (1) of Myanmar in evaluating hydropower projects
