Abstract | The construction industry in Myanmar is one the most contributing sector to the national economy in recent years. This industry have been generating employm ent in the country as the largest one going after agriculture industry. Despise that, it has been dealing with quality deviation resulting from poor workmanship and materials. A lot of complain t s heard from those contractors who lost profit due to the fail ure in controlling project cost. Cost of quality control practice is a developed technique for managing the project quality cost which aims in eliminating quality failure cost for rework and quality defects, reducing appraisal cost of quality testing by co mprehensive understanding on how to invest quality cost for protecting non - conformance. The application of this cost of quality theory is not widely studied. This research is attempted to develop a framework with the aim of identifying assessment factors f or cost of quality control practices in practical application. Total 12 main - factors supported by 51 sub - factors which are bearing the behaviors and practical application of main 12 factors effectively in cost of quality control practices. The developed fr amework and assessment 12 main - factors for investigating the practice of cost of quality control in building construction are validated by 3 professional experts. The validated framework and factors were used for data collection for investigating existing cost of quality control practices. After that, detailed analysis of present practices were obtained and the report s for case analysis were used for identifying strength and weakness of current practices. The research was successfully accomplished with the proposed recommendations on practical application of cost of quality control in building construction for contractor’s company. |
