AbstractSoil salinity is the accumulation of soluble salt in root zone andimpact on agricultural productivity. It is also one of the main environmental problems. Meiktila is one of the district of Central Dry Zone Myanmar and facing with land degradation and salinity problems. This study access soil salinity by field survey and remote sensing analysis, and find out their relationship. From 10 salinity sites,360 soil samples were collected and analyzed for EC. The minimum EC observed in Ma Kyi Kansite and the maximum in Min Kone site. The highest mean salinitylevelfound in Min Kone site. FGD indicated that the highest riceyield wasfound in Ta Yet Kan and Kan Swe site respectively. Farmers detected salinity by visual observation and overcome its effect byagricultural practices.Landsat 8 images were conducting radio metric calibration and atmospheric correction in ENVI 5.1. The points values were extracted by Arcmap 10.2.2. RS data and field EC data were analyzed by regression and correlation analysis. Most of all spectral bands and indices showed strongly correlation with field EC values. Sevenindices were reliable for mapping of soil salinity and 8regression models could be used for predicting of salinity.
