AbstractVietnam has maintained an impressive growth in infrastructure and its services since the early 1990s, especially in transport network de velopment. After becoming a member of the World Trade Organization, the Vietnamese firms face to not only their domestic competi- tors but also the foreign companies. One of th e most critical factors decreased the competi- tive competency of Vietnamese firms came fr om organization struct ure and design. This final report focused on the pr oject organization st ructure of the highway contractor. Ac- cording to the organization theory from literature review, this report analyzed how the or- ganization theory is ap plied in the real proj ect of Vietnam national highway No.51 as well as addressed the problems and obstacles occu rring throughout the pr oject. Some lessons learnt from project and recommendations are di scussed in order to help the project manag- ers to improve their project management comp etency in term of the organizational struc-ture.
