AbstractIn this study 2D electric imaging technique was used to map the deltaic subsoil along a N - S profi le of the Lower Chao Phraya Basin from Ayutthaya to Samut Prakhan and also to see the change in thickness, resistivity, permeability and chargeability. A trial survey was carried out to choose the optimal survey design for the field electric imaging survey . Laboratory measurements were carried out to find out suitable current injection time and IP mode for the chargeability measurements in the field. In most cases a longer survey line of 235 m was used in order to map upto 40 m of Bangkok subsoil. Several s tudy locations were chosen along the N - S profile, including Ayutthaya (Wat Phu Khao Thong), Asian Institute of Technology, National Geological Museum, Eastern Outer Ring road and Klong Suvarnabhum canal.
