Abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to implement a low-cost Thai voice gateway. The systemadapts current technology in network systems and telephony. It empowers traditionaltelephony-based points of contact with access to the open resources on the Web. Thesystem is implemented based on open standards for speech technology and existing opensource software. The system supports the VXML markup language to allow users todevelop voice dialogs easily, and it also supports the MRCP protocol for communicationwith speech engine providers. The system uses a client/server architecture separatedinto 3 main modules. The first module is the VXML interpreter, the second moduleis the speech engine interface, and the last module is the telephony system interface. This thesis describes the system design and implementation. I hope that this thesiswill form the basis to support thousands of intelligent Thai voice applications in thefuture. |
