Abstract | Project delivery system (PDS) guide each of the teams which are involve to the right way and show their responsibility. Also, delivery system draws a framework to imagine and implement the project start from early stage design, bid and till the end of construction phase. Afghanistan is one of the developing countries which is economically is growing fast and have also already started bu ilding the infrastructure projects and the Government has invested huge amount of money and other resources on construction industry, to use these resources properly and prevent the projects from facing to the failure like delay, cost overrun and low quali ty it is necessary to improve the management knowledge in public and private organizations. For improving the success possibility of Afghanistan construction projects, for all parties involving the projects specially for owner it is necessary to understan d the delivery method which is used in their project, for recommending a better guideline to direct the owner in selection of proper delivery method this research is divided in two parts (is consist of four objectives which are validation of conceptual fr amework, ranking of factors by experts, comparison of DB and DBB and recommendation of guideline for proper delivery method selection to the owner), the first part is factors which are affecting the project delivery system selection and the critical factor s from the investigated factors, second part is a comparison of two major delivery methods(Design Build and Design Bid Build) through the project performance of cost, time also change orders and reworks with consideration of each delivery methods advantage s and disadvantages also the factors effects on construction projects in Afghanistan, for a better and a practical comparison of these two methods six projects are selected to be compared that are three design build and three design bid build. |
