AbstractConstruction organizations are suffering with a dilemma of increased failures and bankruptcies thanother industries. One of the prime reason of such failure is poor financial management and most specifically improper management of cash flows.The research focus on the profound study of the cash flow management practices in Pakistan construction industry and its effectiveness using a mixed research approach.Thestudies initiates with the literature identification of the key parametersthat influence cash flow management in construction enterprise operation. These parametersprovided basis for theoretical framework development for case study investigations.Quantitative Study is conducted to identify the critical cash flow problems based on thesignificance and probability of occurrence using a quantitative survey. A severity index is then designed to prioritize the cash flow problems on the basis of their severity for their solution. In the latter part case-wise analysis of individual selected construction companies is conducted to understand existing practices. Cross-case and strength & weakness analysis are conducted for analyzing effective of the existing systems.The quantitative and qualitative results findings are integrated in the endof the study to get mixed research outcomes which are utilized in coordination with the industry recommendations for the development of the improved cash flow management framework applicable in the current industry dynamics of Pakistan.
