AbstractThe research focuses on implementation of quality management system and impact of application of QMS on business performance and client satisfaction in local and international construction contractor’s organization in Afghanistan. Qualitative, including cases of study and quantitative questionnaire were used as a research methodology in order to achieve the study objective, two cases of study in local and similarly in international excluding face by face interviewees with key staff of the construction contractors companies were selected in this research, to find out the current level of application of QMS similarities or differences in order cross case analysis was implemented. Questionnaire contained factors which effect on application of QMS, current level of implementation of QMS and impact of operation of QMS on business performance was used for quantitative data collection. The analysis results divided in three parts. The first part is the factors which effect on implementation of quality management system, in terms of client/consultant, projects, and contractor’s leadership, strategy of quality, administration and culture. The second part is the level of application of quality management system in term of perception about QMS, quality policy, quality procedure and quality audit in local and international construction contractor’s organization. The third part is the effect of implementation of QMS on contractor’s organization performance and customer satisfaction. Report finds out the important factors which have strong correlation and influence on application of quality management system, and the impact of implementation of quality management system on organization performance. The final aim is to provide owners, consultants, contractors, company directors and project key staffs method which has more efficiency to achieve products with high quality, limited resources and at a minimum time
