AbstractToday’s construction companies are project based or ganization and the business climate of construction industry has unprecedented dynamic due to the growth of competitions. Construction projects are unique and manageable con straints such as limited time, budget and resources. In order to achieve successful proje ct, it is need to implement good project management process in the project. In project-orien ted business industry, the overall organizational performance is indeed related to the effectiveness of project management. The objective of this study is to identify the leve l of project management of maturity and the impact on project performance. This study was based on qualitative research and mu ltiple case study approach in order to robust results of the study. This study was conduct ed six construction projects in Myanmar to study existing project management process and pr oject management maturity. The average maturity level of project management in Mya nmar construction projects is around 2. The result found that most processes in project management knowledge areas are defined informally. The analysis showed that project management is posi tively correlated with project performance. It means that the higher the project m anagement maturity, the better the project performance. Project performance criteria i n this study are time, cost, quality and customers’ satisfaction. This study discussed not o nly existing project management process but also recommendation for improving proje ct management process in Myanmar construction projects.
