Abstract | The effort of serving the target customers at the right place and in the right time has been the traditional practice of each and every successful business. Every customer demands from the companies to get the products at the best possible price and quantity, maintaining the quality, within their convenient locations. A huge portion of the budget is spent on Supply Chain Management inventory practices, the life blood of Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies, yet they fail to manage it effectively. Furthermore, designing, sourcing, manufacturing, selling and delivering a new product swiftly in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Sector for potentially money-spinning market have been quite difficult especially when the suppliers, customers, factories and development engineers are speckled all over the world. Products are needed to be delivered at the target price and the manufacturers have to get gratifying support from margin erosion. This study focuses on the issues to understand how a global player faces challenges in managing its inbound inventory, how to deal with the problem of inbound inventory. The global strategies of the company may not be effectual in properly managing the inventory. An effective management of inventory is very critical for a company as it not only minimizes the complexities involved in planning and executing the Supply Chain Management network but also paves the way for the organization to improve its bottom line business performance. |
