| Abstract | This research study focuses on the routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) with sparse wavelength conversion ( WC). Static traffic demands are assumed given together with the network topology and the locations of WCs. For s parse WC , nodes within the optical network may or may not support optical WC . For nodes that support WC , a lightpath may enter on o ne wavelength and leave on another wavelength without using electronic regeneration . In this research study, we apply integer linear programming (ILP) to minimize the maximum link load in two scenarios : RWA with no WC and RWA with WC . In each scenario , we considered 3 different topologies: small - node - degree , medium - node - degree , and large - node - degree topologies . To solve ILP problem s, we use software Pulp ( version 1.4.6) to obtain numerical results in different network scenarios. |
