Abstract | A previous publication presents an algorithm to segment a 3D surface mesh into visually meaningful regions, so called “Mesh Segmentation”. By using a local analysis of the surface geometry, the algorithm is able to determine feature region boundaries, defining feature zone. This work will present an implementation of this algorithm. However, here is no strict definition of “meaningful regions” that is humanly defined. Another aspect of this work will be to analyze how the realisation of the process of Mesh Segmentation can be parametrized and tweaked to output more likely expected output. |
