Abstract | Along with the continuously increase in investment for infrastructure of Vietnam, The Government’s policies has created many convenient for the stated owned and private companies to be the owner of many infrastructure projects. However the characteristics of the mega projects has created many difficulties for the owner to be able to manage them as a whole picture and direct all of them toward the company’s strategic goals. This study was conducted in order to approach a method for the financial management of the projects as a strategic plan for long term development. Considering each data of the projects as a portfolio, the whole picture of portfolios will be analysis, giving assessments and recommendations toward the company goals... Case study will be made on Vietnam Expressway Corporation’s 5 expressway pr ojects namely Noi Bai – Lao Cai, Ho Chi Minh – Long Thanh – Dau Giay, Da Nang – Quang Ngai, Ben Luc – Long Thanh and Bac Giang Lang Son projects. Inputs for each projects, uses and sources of funds, debt services repayment, income statement, cash flow summary, and the financial performance indicators such as IRR, NPV, DSCR, ROE... will be carefully reviewed and given opinion for the overall financial status of all projects as well as recommendations for the future strategic plan of the company. The results of this study may help company a method to choose the most appropriate plan for the future development, and will shows how the overall strategic decision can affect the overall financial status of the company, as well as how they can be delivered in each of their portfolio |
