AbstractUnder the impact of the market economy, the requirements of implementing the project is also changed by specifying bid packages, replacing the traditional management methods with more advanced and flexible ones. However, Vietnamese engineers really lack of their understanding and experience in project management; do not meet the current requirements. In this report, the writer would like to evaluate the importance of quality management as implementing the project. In theory, it is certain that this is the i mportant role, requirements and benefits of applying Quality Management System (QMS). From this, they can find the key issues affecting to the project quality to easily control during the project implementation from the beginning of the feasibility study, preliminary design to the handover to put the project in use. This paper also introduces Quality Management System (QMS) of the owner and related components as implementing the project that they really need to pay attention to and get acquainted with the c urrent situation. From this, they will have an overview about the project management situation and the development methods of project management at the construction site in Vietnam. This report was also analyzed particularly basing on the construction pro ject in Vinh Long city – Vietnam to show the weaknesses as well as the advantages or what purposes have been achieved as implementing the project. From that, it gives better recommendations for next projects. From the results of the report, I would like to conclude that the project management in construction in Vietnam still has many limitations and is underdeveloped. Therefore, the management of construction projects should be studied more carefully; recommendations should be made particularly and more rea sonably; it is also necessary to learn the experience in the project management in construction of the developed countries.
