| Abstract | A refined plate element is introduced for plate bending applications. The plate bending element based on linear displacement and rotation functions is proposed with a natural coordinates oriented integration scheme. Several numerical tests have confirmed that the resulting 4-noded Mindlin plate element performs well, without shear locking nor hour glass mechanism for both thick and thin plate situations. |
